Beer & Bites brings people together to make a powerful difference for local cancer patients and their families. With every item donated and every bid placed, South Sound CARE Foundation can fund groundbreaking research, innovative treatments, and access to clinical trials right here in the South Sound.
Last year, one of the most popular auction items was a Ketchikan Fishing Adventure. Long-time Beer & Bites supporter Margo Klein bid on it as a special gift for her husband, Ron—with one condition: she had to go too!
Their trip was unforgettable:
“It was like being in an issue of National Geographic! We caught a fish and released it, only to watch an eagle swoop down and grab it. Another time, we were reeling one in as a pod of orcas swam by. Even from our Airbnb, we could see whales in the sound—it was as charming as could be!”
When asked what inspired her to bid, Margo shared this advice:
“Think about what your bid goes to, not just the experience or auction item. You’re making an impact and supporting an incredible cause in our community.”
