A Continued Partnership

In partnership since 2018, South Sound CARE Foundation and MultiCare Institute for Research & Innovation took an additional step in 2022 to extend trial access to South Sound cancer patients.

The expanded agreement will provide CARE access to National Cancer Institute trials for non-MultiCare patients with the support of the Research Institute’s regulatory team and Dr. Jennifer Slim, Medical Director for Oncology Research at MultiCare.

"We look forward to establishing the workflow that will allow easy, seamless access to a strategic portfolio of innovative therapies through SWOG in the coming year."

Roslyn Pierce, Executive Director of Research at MultiCare Institute for Research & Innovation.

Over the past 5-years, genitourinary (GU) cancer has been the primary focus of the partnership through CARE's support of a MultiCare Research Coordinator. "Because of this support, MultiCare has had the ability to prioritize and direct efforts to expand research trials focused on GU cancers," Pierce added. "This additional resource has continued to allow our team to accept more industry trials and enroll more patients throughout the South Sound region."
